Dr. Jagadeesha Poyya is an Assistant Professor at the SDM Research Institute for Biomedical Sciences, Dharwad, India. With a strong academic foundation in Biochemistry, he earned his Ph.D. from Mangalore University, where he also served as a Research Fellow for several years. Dr. Poyya has dedicated his research to understanding the molecular underpinnings of disease, particularly focusing on the role of the Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) signaling pathway and its modulation in neurological and ischemic conditions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Poyya has contributed significantly to the field of molecular biology and bioinformatics through impactful publications, peer-reviewed research, and supervision of multiple postgraduate research projects. He is an active member of various scientific communities and frequently serves as a resource person in national workshops.
